Tuesday 14th March 1916

It was a very fine day. After breakfast I went down for the mail, afterwards sieved a lot of sand and carried it across to the wharf.

Willie hauled several cases of Pears down to the wharf and then he got a boat and he and Grace went out fishing and they caught several nice schnappers, he carted home empty cases and my sand.

In the afternoon I planted 4 clumps of Daffodils in the border near the front gate.
