Saturday 14th July 1917

The wind has changed round to the NE and a sea is getting up. In the morning I packed cuttings of 20 varieties of roses and posted them to Mrs Halliwell of Te Araroa, also wrote her a letter and posted it at the same time. Grace went down to sweep & dust the church and arrange flowers on the altar. I carried two loads of wood from over the hill. Willie and Dave were cutting wood for another Kiln.
