Saturday 11th March 1916

The wind is still blowing strong from the SE. The “Kawau” came in this morning, she did not go to Mangawai but left here for Auckland at 2.30pm. Willie went down in the morning to get the mail.

There were a few showers in the morning. The Warkworth Show was held to day. May Dunning brought Revd & Mrs Boyle the newly appointed Presbyterian minister to call on us in the afternoon, they seem very nice people. I was working in the flower garden. I took up and replanted a clump of Fritalaries, also planted 4 clumps of Daffodils near the front gate. John Addison came in the evening, we played 500.
