Friday 10th March 1916

Wind still blowing strong from SE. Fairly fine day, only a few slight showers.

In the morning I went down to the P.O to send a wire to the boys, afterward I went down to Dunnings beach for some shell sand which I carried home.

The remainder of the day I was working in the flower garden, I planted 2 clumps of Pink Gladiolus, 3 Do Bride Gladiolus, 2 Balsams, 3 Antirrhinum , 3 mignonette, took up and replanted 3 Aquilegias. In the evening I went down to the village thinking to get the mail, but on account of the weather the Steamer did not come.
